Cultivate Chiropractic Opens Second Location

Dutch Greeters welcomed Dr. Miranda and Dr. Katelyn, a sister doctor duo, to Pella. Their new location on Washington Street is their second Cultivate Chiropractic office in the area. The practice began for these Otley natives in Altoona, but they quickly realized their nervous system-based chiropractic care was missing near their hometown.

As the Dutch Greeters learned, stress builds up from the birthing process, bumps and falls, toxins, and illness. It creates a brain that prioritizes stress and a nervous system that compensates by remaining in fight or flight mode.

In this state, the brain does not calm well, sleep is difficult, learning feels impossible, regulating behaviors and emotions is overwhelming, and patients get overstimulated. To what degree depends on how stuck the nervous system is.

Nerves are in charge of carrying messages between the brain and body. So every system of the body – immune, cardiovascular, reproductive, hormonal, digestive, and musculoskeletal – all rely on the optimal function of the nervous system to do their job.
Cultivate Chiropractic works directly with the nervous system through adjustments to regulate all systems and move the patient from a sympathetic, fight-or-flight state to a parasympathetic, rest-and-digest state.

“We are majorly kid-focused; about 70% of our patients are children,” said Dr. Miranda, the elder of the two practitioners. “We are most passionate about neurodevelopmental challenges like ADHD, sensory, and especially anxiety, and helping children get off their medication so they can thrive in school instead of struggling.”
The nervous system is the foundation of health and sets the tone for every system and function in the body. Chiropractic care can play a significant role in ensuring the brain and body develop together so patients can learn and grow to their best ability!
