What’s a girl to do when she loves stationery but already has a collection beyond what she could use?! Open up a store, of course! “I’ve always liked paper and stationary,” said owner Andrea Buydos. “When we moved here from California, my husband moved about 30 boxes of stationary I’ve collected but would never use because it was so pretty. He said, ‘one day you should open a business and just sell it so you could be around it.” And that’s exactly what she did!

Dutch Greeters recently welcomed her new venture, Pella Paperie, as an addition to the downtown businesses. Offering stationery, journals, planners, fun cards, and much more, “we [Pella] didn’t have anything like this, like fun cards! I like putting humor in everything…and not taking everything so seriously,” said Andrea.

Beyond the fun of humorous cards and pretty stationery, you will also find calendars, pens and pencils, wrapping paper, paint by numbers kits, children’s books, and lunch bags, among a vast array of pretty things in the store. With brands like Rifle Paper Co., Dabbawalla Bags, and Moleskine, you’re sure to find something wonderful for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

Along with an extensive selection of items to browse in store, they also plan to offer classes with ideas of calligraphy, watercolor painting, and journaling/creative writing. But keep an eye on their Facebook page for Write About it Wednesday, where they post a writing prompt for you to journal about, whether at home or in-store on their comfy couch. And whether it’s Wednesday or another day of the week, you are always welcome to come in and sit down to relax, write, or simply enjoy the moment.
